Sam Archer is a Sustainability Consultant and Mechanical Engineer with over 17 years’ experience in the Construction Industry. He moved to New Zealand in July 2014 and is now Director of Market Transformation at the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) with responsibility for running the organisation’s sustainability and energy assessment tools – Green Star, Homestar and Nabers NZ.
Before joining NZGBC Sam worked in engineering consulting. Notable past work includes advising UK government on zero carbon building regulations and updating the recent (2015) iteration of the energy section of the UK building code. He also spent 5 years advising the University of Cambridge on the biggest investment the University has made in its history; a 3000 home development on the edge of the city of Cambridge to provide housing for its key workers.
