Councillor for Waitakere and Chair of Regulatory Committee
Formerly a Registered Nurse, Linda has been involved in a wide range of volunteer and elected roles in West Auckland. Before the Auckland Council amalgamation, she was a Waitakere City Councillor between 2004-2010. She is also the President of the Waitakere Licensing Trust and Chairman of Family Action Inc. (family violence support and prevention), and former Chairman of Hospice West Auckland and Ranui Action Project.
Linda has over twenty years of governance experience in commercial, local body and non-governmental community organisations including health, resource management, social services and funding bodies. Linda is also a board member of Waitakere Healthlink. She recently completed a 4 year term on the Electricity and Gas Complaints Commission Board and a 5 year term on the Defence Force Employer Support Council. Linda has recently been elected as President of the New Zealand Licensing Trust Association and also appointed to the Waste Advisory Board for the Ministry for the Environment.
