John Tookey is a Professor of Construction, as well as being the Deputy Head of the School Of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at Auckland University of Technology. Professor Tookey has a PhD in Industrial Engineering and an extensive track record in construction management research and publication. His primary areas of interest include construction procurement, risk, supply chain management and construction logistics. Professor Tookey has led the establishment of AUT as one of the leading institutions in New Zealand teaching construction and built environment education, having introduced 5 different undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at AUT. Professor Tookey is a regular commentator in both print and broadcast media in New Zealand on construction issues in general, as well as housing policy in particular.
