  • More than 11,000 homes must be built in Auckland each year to keep up with population growth. Some say that improving the quality of new homes will increase build costs and reduce affordability.
  • We believe that poor quality homes simply store up costs in the long term. It’s well known that New Zealand has one of the weakest Building Codes in the developed world.
  • Sam Archer will talk about why this needs to improve and ways in which NZGBC’s rating tool, Homestar, has changed to make the construction of warmer, drier, more healthy homes more affordable.
