The NZ Specialist Trade Contractors Federation (NZSTCF) is an umbrella body representing the interests of the specialist trade contractor groups – the backbone of the building and construction industry and critical to New Zealand’s economic growth.
Formed in 1997, the Federation played a leading role in the development of the Construction Contracts Act, passed into law in 2002 to improve cashflow in the industry. The Federation has continued this work closely with government and industry, and has been hugely influential in the recent changes to treatment and securing of retentions under the Construction Contracts Act.
The NZSTCF is the “Recognised Voice of the Specialist Trades in New Zealand” and it is recognised that as a peak body we have a stronger ‘voice’ than our own individual associations to influence and contribute to change in the industry.
Using this stronger voice, the Federation represents a wide range of the specialist trades including electrical, painting, fire protection, plumbing, gas fitting, drain laying, scaffolding, heating and ventilation, reinforcing, roofing, precast concrete, ceilings, walls and linings.
