The number of women in New Zealand’s construction industry has doubled to 15 per cent over the last 15 years. This growth has prompted the establishment and success of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) in New Zealand.
NAWIC is non-profit association designed to support women who work in the construction industry. We currently have over 500 members from all over New Zealand.
NAWIC New Zealand has been active in Wellington since 1996, with new chapters established in Auckland in 2012 and Canterbury in 2013. Our members include quantity surveyors, project managers, suppliers, planners, designers, architects, engineers, tradespeople and lawyers.
NAWIC encourages women to pursue, establish and sustain successful careers in the construction industry. Our vision is to be the leading voice for women in the New Zealand industry. We hold regular events to inform and up-skill women in construction and to promote networking and information sharing for the betterment of the construction industry as a whole.
