Beautiful baches and sophisticated city houses are among the housing winners in the NZIA Auckland Architecture Awards for 2017.

The association says the large number of projects that have received honours in this year’s awards, announced on Wednesday, April 26, reflects Auckland’s building boom. Forty-five projects have won awards, 13 more than last year.

Winners include 12 new houses, four renovation projects and three multi-unit projects.

Some of New Zealand’s most awarded contemporary architecture practices, Fearon Hay Architects (Forest House), Patterson Associates (Paoneone), Strachan Group Architects (339 House) and Herbst Architects (Bethells Bach), were among the winners in the housing category.
